Once upon a time, athletic training facilities were simply functional spaces where trainers focused on fundamentals, leaving game-like scenarios for field training. That is no longer the case. Large or small, today’s training facilities strive to mimic the playing environment athletes face, highlighting the importance of lighting.
Such is the case with East Coast Baseball Academy in Port St. Lucie, FL. Jack and Kelly Lambert transformed an old warehouse with dull lighting into a vibrant first-class training facility with the help of Tamlite Lighting.
In order to accomplish this, the Lambert’s worked with Port St. Lucie City Electric Supply to select the right lighting fixtures for both the training areas and office space. They chose six TAMUFO230W850 high bays for the training area and replaced 12 old tube florescent fixtures in the office spaces with BLP22365K and BLP 245050K backlit panels.
When asked why they chose to replace the halogen high bays with the TAMUFO LED high bay, Andrew Nelson, trainer for ECBA stated, “ There are a lot of reasons we chose led high bays over halogen. Halogen lights give off a lot of heat and take a while to warm up before you get true light, while led throws out less heat and give off sharp, bright, vibrant light. Perfect for training.”
